ZEM "Un nouveau son à la Harpe"
Prix TV5 Monde et coup de cœur musical du magazine Elle, Zem est à la recherche d’un nouveau son à la harpe. A la fois chanteuse et harpiste, elle revisite des titres connus mais propose aussi ses propres compositions, au carrefour d’influences diverses et variées : chanson française, blues, jazz, soul, hip hop... Elle nous propose de découvrir son histoire entremêlée à celle de la littérature pour son instrument

(ZEM ‘A New Sound on the Harp’
Winner of the TV5 Monde Prize and Elle magazine’s ‘Musical Favourite’, ZEM is on a quest to discover a new sound on the harp. Both a singer and a harpist, she reinterprets well-known songs whilst also performing her own compositions, which blend a diverse range of influences: French chanson, blues, jazz, soul, hip hop… She invites us to discover her story, interwoven with the history of literature for her instrument.

As an orphan ZEM was adopted by a Belgian/Dutch family and she was raised in Ghent. She studied classical harp (private student of Susanna Mildonian) and piano and started her career as singersong writer in a hiphop-formation at the age of 16. She participated in ‘The Voice 2014’. From 2017 onwards, her artistic quest gets a whole new dynamic: ZEM returns to her first, great love, the Harp. In 2018 she wins the TV5 MONDE public award. ZEM is a sing-songwriter, plays the semi-electric harp in an eclectic way from folk to triphop. ZEM writes and sings in three languages (EN, FR, NL).
